Martin Alvarado has performed many times with orchestras in Europe and Asia. There is a wealth of well-known tango music that is frequently orchestrated and usually features the music of Astor Piazzolla and other tango composers such as Carlos Gardel.
Martin has also performed many rare Piazzolla pieces which are arguably worthy of more artistic recognition and provide an opportunity to present an orchestral programme that covers new and exciting ground, musically and artistically. Some of his past orchestral concerts have also featured new songs that Martin has composed.
As a soloist, he has a charismatic and powerful stage presence. His warm and emotionally colourful tenor voice transcends language barriers.
This kind of concert can work either as a standalone tango music concert or as part of a concert featuring a wider programme of Latin American/Spanish classical pieces. It can feature other soloists, from a complete tango orchestra, soloist bandoneon player and professional tango dancers, too. New orchestral arrangements are also possible.
Martin speaks excellent English and can offer insightful guidance and experience on interpretations that avoid cliche and use tasteful artistic expression in an understated yet powerful way.
