Martin Alvarado – Buenos Aires Troubadour
Martin Alvarado, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar
Martin Alvarado is a Buenos Aires-born artist who has won wide acclaim for his exceptional voice, and is increasingly being recognised as one of the most significant vocalists in the history of tango. He is celebrated both in the media and by his peers who have called him “the best voice in Buenos Aires” and “21st Century voice of tango”.
In this project he performs a carefully selected repertoire of tangos, folk songs from Argentina and South America and some of his own ballads, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar.

The Voice of Buenos Aires
Martin Alvarado and Gerardo Villar & Los Aguirre

Martin is joined by a talented guitar quartet from Buenos Aires with a programme of tangos by Astor Piazzolla and other major tango protagonists and folkloric styles from Argentina.
Nuestro Piazzolla
Martin Alvarado and Matti Laukkanen
A brand new project to mark the release of an album of the same name (expected 2024), this celebrates some of Astor Piazzolla’s rarely heard or recorded tango songs. Piazzolla is Argentina’s most celebrated tango composer yet only a fraction of his work performed regularly and most of that is instrumental. This project shines a light on a selection from his songbook and presents the composer’s work in a brilliant new light.

Nuestro Tango
